Lucy

VSO International

Zest co-founder Tim headed off to Ghana to direct, film and edit this piece, which was produced by VSO. It is a short documentary film about Lucy, a girl who had her life turned around by VSO volunteers.

During an initiative to get kids into school (with a particular focus on girls and disabled children), Lucy was found lying in the dirt at home, where her parents were struggling to give her the best possible chances in life. With VSO’s help and support, Lucy was given physiotherapy and integrated into school life, marking an amazing turnaround.

“I have worked with Zest many times, from film tours in Nigeria, Malawi and Tanzania to the production of edits in London.

Tim is conscientious, skilled, and through his clarity and desire to achieve the best results is a natural director. He is energised, enthusiastic, professional and often utilises fresh techniques which are always welcome. Tim takes his work very seriously whilst also being a lovely person to work with. I highly recommend him.”
