Rule changers

Chevrolet | Mischief PR

This film was part of Chevrolet’s ‘Rule Changers’ Series. Charismatic inventor Trevor Baylis discusses overcoming the odds to make mass communication more accessible in the developing World, through his invention of the wind-up radio.

For the premium feel which Chevrolet desired, we lit Trevor’s main interview very carefully, and used two cameras to film it. The “A” camera was on a slider, to create a constantly moving and dynamic talking head shot, while the “B” camera made use of carefully-placed foreground detail – in this case some interesting bits of Baylis-related paraphernalia! This meant it didn’t just look gorgeous, but it was relevant to the theme. Everything for a reason!

To accompany the interview we filmed Trevor in other settings, both in his workshop and also driving the Chevrolet around Richmond Park. The use of a heavy duty limpet car mount allowed us to safely secure the camera to the bodywork of the car and achieve great top angles.

“Zest produces high-quality work, often to tight deadlines, which has been published on numerous media outlets. Good fun to work with and know exactly what we’re tying to achieve, adding value to each project.”
