Zest was commissioned by the The Carers Trust and The Children’s Society to produce an informative short film raising awareness of young carers and promoting the Young Carers in Schools programme. The film incorporates case studies from two schools which have already gained recognition for their successful adoption of the scheme and also features interviews with children who have benefited from it.

The use of film-style prime lenses gives the film a high quality finish and allowed us to capture a range of sequences in a more cinematic style. We also employed slow motion which enabled certain moments to be emphasised and held for longer on screen.

The film is currently being shown to educational professionals nationwide in the hope that it will inspire more schools to register with the scheme and give them the tools to identify and support more young carers.

“Zest were fantastic to work with. They were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and completely put us at ease; ensuring that our needs were met every step of the way. Their professional, creative and friendly approach enabled us to capture some really inspiring footage and we are so pleased with the final film.”
